这是中学时期语文老师给我们读过的一篇文章，作者刘墉，以文章小，以书的题目长出名，不喜欢他是因为他实在太好为人师，喜欢他却也是他可以为人师。
当我在电视新闻部的时候，有一次随记者团南下采访，应某单位的晚宴，席间主客尽欢，喝得愈多，愈觉得意气相投，记者们既放开了喉咙逗笑脸红得像只大龙虾的主人，更毫无顾忌地透露许多内幕消息。
要是在平常，记者们早忙不迭地拿纸笔记下来了，那时却都醉得东倒西歪、神志不清。散席之后，还是主人特别派车，才能回到旅馆。
我因为有气喘的毛病，不敢多喝，所以是唯一完全清醒的人，心想：只可惜我工作的电视媒体，不宜报道所听到的内幕，报社的记者们又都醉的，否则那主人酒后之言，实在可以大大发挥一番。
岂知第二天早上翻开报纸，前晚主人的话，竟一字不漏地上了几家大报，赫然出自那些醉得连路都走不稳的记者之手。后来才知道他们在神志已经不太清楚的时候，居然还能一面胡言乱语、打打闹闹，一边偷偷记下主人所说的每句话。连那最难背的数字，都咬着牙强记了下来。等到一进旅馆房间，赶紧用笔写下，再冲个冷水澡，立刻打电话回台北，把报上原来较不重要的新闻临时撤版，换上新得到的内幕消息。
“你不写，成吗?别人会写!”一位记者笑着对我说：“瞧瞧!大伙全醉了!大伙也全发了!不发的就是独漏。跑新闻，醉了也得忍着不醉，因为这就是战场啊!”
我暗说：好险!如果我是报社记者，醉了之后心想别人也醉了，而不强打着精神发新闻，岂不就要“独漏”了吗!
从那以后，我不敢低估任何人，更暗自观察每个记者的举动。我曾经见过一个记者，偷偷用铅笔在自己皮鞋跟和前面鞋底的中间位置写下听到的数字，也见过摄影记者右手敬酒，左手却随时在调整照相机的焦距，因为那时还没有自动对焦的相机，而最精彩的镜头，往往不是临时举起相机对焦，所能抓到的。
近几次课上总会不小心提到，提到的时候，按照我的叙述方式，孩子们总会不约而同地肃穆10秒左右，鸦雀无声，仿佛自省些什么，也仿佛告诉说，讲这个是对的。可上有一个孩子本是英语阅读班的，当初为了鼓励大家自觉发言，我奖励了她一本自己参编了的作文书，她说了：像我这种学生，竟然也能得奖励……
我说：不要给自己胡乱的贴标签，别人贴的不算，自己贴的要负责。这次课再见，她已经成了积极发言、爱记笔记的孩子，虽然依然活泼，问的问题无一不是要害，真是令人感触颇多，成本十几元的书，就这样了…………
今天，看着这个孩子，我告诉了大家：有一个老师给我讲过这样一则事，叫《赛狠》……
